Amy Devine, Doula
I help expecting parents in Northwest Arkansas make informed decisions throughout pregnancy by providing them with resources and evidence on issues relating to pregnancy, birth, and newborn care. Through prenatal visits we get to know each other, and I will guide you through designing your birth plan. From the time you need me during labor, I will be with you to support you and your partner in the ways you wish for pain management, relaxation techniques, and informed decision making. After the birth of your baby, I will check in with you at times we have previously arranged, at the hospital, your home, or both. My goal is for your pregnancy and birth to be a wonderful experience that you choose, and I will support you every way I can, every step of the way.
After a free consultation visit, we will meet at least twice during your pregnancy to discuss concerns you have, get familiar with comfort measures and pain relief techniques for labor, and establish your birth plan. I am available to you by phone and text during business hours throughout your pregnancy, and 24/7 beginning 2 weeks before your due date.
The support I give you and your partner during labor is all about you and your preferences. Hospital or home, finding labor positions, pain medication or none, lots of involvement from your partner, or going alone. We find what you are comfortable with and what works for you. I will stay with you for the first hour or so after the birth as you desire.
After the birth of your baby, I will follow up with you in person, and still be available to you by phone and text. I can help you with basic baby care and breastfeeding concerns, do light housework tasks such as washing dishes, vacuuming or sweeping floors and folding laundry. How much time we spend together postpartum is up to you, to meet your needs.
Every woman should have the opportunity to experience the pregnancy, birth, and newborn days she dreams of. I love being able to be a brief part of your life to help you make it happen. As a mother of six, I have personally experienced home and hospital births, have been under the care of obstetricians and a midwife, and have breast and bottle fed. I have been studying pregnancy, labor, and birth for personal interest for over 15 years, and with Childbirth International (CBI) for the last year. I expect to finish my Doula certification with CBI by the end of 2019. I serve clients in Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, Fatetteville, and the surrounding areas. Please contact me to set up a free consultation appointment so we can get to know each other!

Amy is nothing short of amazing. Her calming presence and guidance during the birth of my first child was such a blessing. Amy was patient and attentive as she coached me through the delivery and helped me every step of the way. I truly don’t know what I would have done without her there with me. Her knowledge and experience is invaluable!
